  • "How do you spell that?"

  • "Oh. And what brought you to Missouri?"
  • "No, I said 'Univeristy.'"
  • "Right. But it's in MI? MI is Missouri?"
  • "Michigan."
  • "Oh, right."

  • "So what brought you there?"
  • "My job at the university."
  • "Oh, you teach, right?"
  • "Right. It's a university."
  • "Have you been back at UF recently?"
  • "No."
  • "We're really excited about our new coach!"

    I feel annoyed when Georgetown calls asking for money because they've got plenty already. But I don't mind when U of MD-University College or my husband's school, St. Bonaventure calls since they need the big bucks to keep afloat.
    The other thing that annoys me is being asked to include any school (including the one where I work) in my will. Enough already, I say.

    I think former graduate assistants should be exempt from these calls. We gave at the office.
