You cannot keep your wrists in the proper position with a laptop and keep the monitor in position that is best for your eyes.
As proof, I present Jeff's wrist.
However, I suspect he could be doing something else with that wrist that could be affecting his eyesight. I know how you Mac people are with your Apples.

What's wrong with a laptop keyboard? Everything I've read about CTS/RPI stresses wrist position. If the laptpop is in your lap and/or positioned so your wrist angle is correct, what's the problem?
At Florida I spent one day a week off the wire---no computer use at all. I've gotten out of that habit since I moved to Western. I need to return to it.
