Scan from a record cover the girl gave me last weekend.
Otis Redding's face as a collage of clippings and images. New media portraiture. You are the images and texts written about you/made of you. You are the reference of textuality. Coupled with the moment of celebrity, the new media portrait makes even more sense. Unlike Warhol, you don't need to use another's image. You use your own. The blog makes this gesture all the more explicit.

well then, my son, what if i say that i have my private self and my public self and that the former is well-guarded from the latter? just because i appear one way in the media, either through the efforts of others or myself, doesn't make me beholden to those images.
I am collaged, therefore I am? Not.
