Sports Saturday

Here you go folks, my Saturday sports talk:

  • Gators b-ball. Your heard it here. Took down Syracuse in the Coaches' Classic. Sorry Collin and Derek.
  • Larry Brown wants to trade Marbury? Good luck. For who? The best young guards on up and coming teams, Arenas and Richardson, aren't tradable. New York could trade for Francis, but really, is that an upgrade?
  • Biggest overrated pre-season college footbally listing: Tennessee. Started number 3. Now might not make a bowl game.
  • Whatever happened to all the talk last year about Adrian Peterson? Soones, as bad as they are this year, are bowl eligible. Or is this just another case of ESPN hype?
  • Matt Walsh cut by the Heat to make room for Gerald Fitch. Even in the NBA, the Gators abused by the Wildcats.
  • Let's hear your Motor City Bowl picks, folks.

Yup, Tech's D could be enough to beat UGA. The Dawgs are certainly overrated, a little vulnerable.

    Vanderbilt 28
    Tennessee 24

Oh my. UT can't even win the Knox County Championship. And Georgia backs into the SEC title game. I wouldn't be surprised if they go down to Georgia Tech next week, the way the Ramblin' Wreck is playing. That would fit with this crazy year.

Nice to see the Gators win yesterday. They should have won by even more, had they not shot free throws so poorly. Too bad Walsh wasn't there with them: clearly, leaving early was a HUGE mistake for him.

Yeah yeah yeah. The Gators shot lights out, took us out of the 2-3, and totally deserved to win. And between SU and Wake, I think we've adequately demonstrated that Florida deserves a top 25 slot, yes? And that Texas Tech does not, for that matter...

Purdue's right there with Tennessee in terms of failing to meet the hype. Some paper in Orlando even picked te Boliers to win the National Title, and they didn't even qualify for a bowl.

Didn't Adrian Peterson get hurt? Or tick off the coach?

Does the Big 10 still have a Motor City spot? If so, maybe MSU or Minestoa.
